new movie recording in quicktime 10.4 doesn't always record audio

While trying to record screen of iphone iOS 8.4 with QuickTime 10.4, audio only works sometimes. I have Yosemite running on MacBook pro.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
