Mail URL preview

In Mac Mail 8.2 (2102) on OS 10.10.4, when clicking on a URL link using the drop down preview to view inside of Mail application, will the website count this preview as the page being viewed?

I'm curious specifically when previewing the link in question is for confirming an account or listing.

Will previewing such a confirmation link make the web page think the link was clicked and thusly finalize creation of the account or post listing?
