"Disk not ejected properly" with external HD

Hello, I'm using an internal SATA 5400 form a Mac mini in an external box as a backup drive.

I'm receiving very frequently the message "Disk not ejected properly". It happens randomly and, what is very very strange, it happens also when I gently touch the hard disk.

Which is the issue causing the problem in your opinion?

Since you said " it happens also when I gently touch the hard disk." that would point to a loose/poor connection that gets broken when you touch the drive periodically due to vibration.

Try:

- Another USB cable

- Another USB port

- Try disk in another enclosure
