My Apple Tv device is showing pictures from a photo stream from over 2 years ago? Where are those photos coming from?

Two years ago I had Apple TV setup and had it synced with Photo Stream on our devices. We moved and packed up the Apple TV device and just found it the other day. To my amazement, I turned on the Apple TV device and clicked on PhotoStream. It is now showing the same photos from 2 years ago which have long since been deleted or lost and are not on any of our devices?? My wife would like these photos back but I don't know where they are coming from? Can anybody help me explain what is going on here? Thanks much.
