Is there any way to have your text read by iMovie?

I have an introduction slide with text on the screen. I am trying to make a video of my recent vacation. Is there any way to have iMovie read the text on that page and save it as an audio file that i can put along with the text?

If not does anyone know anywhere this can be done and How?

No, but you can record a voiceover in iMovie (see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.8/#/mov44e3a4427). I guess you could put the text in TextEdit, use the speech utility, record the audio and import it into iMovie but do you really want a synthesised voice?
