Why aren't podcasts showing unplayed episodes?

27" iMac (late 2013)

OSX v10.10.4

iTunes v12.2.1.16

iPhone5c

iOS v8.4

The podcasts to which I am subscribed update with new, unplayed episodes on my phone but about a week ago stopped also updating in iTunes on my iMac.y pho

I realize that if I listen to them on my phone, they cease to be unplayed and then won't show as unplayed on my computer in iTunes. However (1) They don't show up even if I haven't listened to them on my phone yet and (2) They don't even show up in "feed" as existing at all, available to be re-downloaded even if already played.

Basically, podcast refreshing has simply ceased functioning as of a week ago or so.
