Need help with iCloud

I have an 8 GB iPhone 5c. I completely shattered my screen and the LED on the screen is totaled, so I cannot unlock it or even swipe to unlock. I do have my iCloud sharing enabled, however I only have a certain amount of storage that regularly backs up my photos. In order to get a new phone, I need to disable my current one but I do not want to lose all of the pictures that were not backed up with the iCloud. I am asking if anyone knows a way to transfer all of my photos onto my computer even though I don't have access to my phone? Or if it's possible to purchase more storage and if it would just automatically back up more photos if I increase the storage space?

Hello

Well it depends.

Do you have the backup to iCloud, already turned on for that iPhone?

If yes and your iCloud space is full, then buying more space will help.

Are you using "iCloud Photo Library"?

If yes, you covered

If you said no to the above questions I hope you have an iTunes backup.

Ok I just purchased more storage.

I can't see what my phone is doing exactly but I do know that it backs up if it's connected to wifi and plugged into a power source.
