I have an i phone 4 and cannot get the microphone to show on keyboard on messenges
iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2
Dictation requires:
Settings > General > Keyboard > Enable Dictation = "On"
iPhone is connected to the internet.
Settings/General/Keyboard/Then...Auto-Cap,Auto-Correct, Check spelling, Enable Caps Lock, Shortcut, Keyboards-English or add new keyboard is all I have.
What am I missing?

That option is not available on the iPhone 4.
Thanks for clarifying. I sort of thought that might be the case, but the current iPhone User Guide no longer states this fact (anywhere I could find).
You're welcome. I believe that option was introduced along with Siri on the 4S.
