How can we get iphoto back?

I've been missing iPhoto since the latest update. That was one of my favorite programs and photos do not work the same. How can I get iPhoto back?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 8.4

"However, if you rely on an iPhoto feature that is missing from Photos, you can try to revert to iPhoto. If you do revert, bear in mind that you’re only buying yourself a bit of time. iPhoto is no longer being updated, so it’s only a matter of time before it becomes incompatible with some future version of OS X. We don’t know if that’ll be in a few weeks or months or years."

thank you so much Carolyn, I will try this out. The new Photos is an absolute mess. I used to be very fast at making events and power point presentations using my images... no I am lost in an ocean of pictures that I can't paste anywhere. I can't like Photos

Use the Media Browser instead of Cut and Paste.
