Can I shuffle my entire music library without making a playlist?

Certainly!

1. Start playing from the "Songs" area like this. (Make sure you are on "Songs" in the upper right.)

2. From iTunes' menu, go to Controls > Shuffle. Set it "On" and choose "Songs" as shown here.

No.

You don’t play music with the iTunes app on the iPhone.

You use the Apple Music app (or the Music app prior to iOS 8.4).

I hit siri and ask her to shuffle music, on the iphone and it works ....quite annoying really

Why is it annoying to use Siri?

I am able to shuffle my music after the most recent update. If you go into your Library: select My Music, select Songs and then play a song - you can then select shuffle there. You have to hit the small bar at the bottom to show the options, if its not already shown.

Nothing to "bring back" as it has not gone...The Shuffle button is there...

just personal preference would prefer to just hit a shuffle button like the old version

It is just like the old version.

You have to select something to shuffle then you will see the Shuffle button.

what about being able to shuffle on my Mac Desktop----not on a small device?
