I would like to import more photos onto Mac book. Need more cloud storage, unclear on how to get this done. Then how to make sure all photos are stored on cloud as to not take up valuable space on Mac book, since there is not much to begin with.

System Preferences/iCloud/Manage/Buy more Storage
Then open Photos app, go to Preferences/iCloud, "check" iCloud Photo Library and Optimize Mac Storage. Be advised though that when you do that the full resolution photos will only be stored on iCloud, not your computer.

It will show you the status of uploads and tell you when it is complete. If you want to double check you can go to www.icloud.com and log in with your Apple ID and view your photos online.
