iPhone 6 and iPad Air suddenly stopped syncing with iTunes

In the last week both my iPhone and iPad have stopped syncing with iTunes. iTunes does not seem to recognize the devices. Photos starts when the devices are connected and photos sync. Both devices charge when connected.

Hey WaterGuyNYC,

It sounds as if the root of your issue here is that your iOS devices are not recognized by iTunes on your computer. I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in one of these two articles, depending on the type of computer you have -

For Windows - iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows.

For Macs - If you don't see your connected device in iTunes for Mac.

Once this issue is resolved you should be able to go ahead and sync with the iTunes.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Happy computing.
