Q: iMac Retina Radeon R9 290X Windows 10 video driver

Hello!

Can someone please provide info where to get Windows 10 video driver for my iMac Retina (R9 M290X)?

Bootcamp doesn't help. Catalyst 15.7 cannot detect any compatible hardware.

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), 2014

You could try hacking in the latest Catalyst drivers as per this page

I had the same problem. After working on the issue for about 24 hours, I found a solution. Go to the AMD website and download the new drivers for windows 10. Install the drivers. You'll get a message saying NO AMD DEVICE DETECTED. That's okay. Then, go to your System folder in the Control Panel and select SYSTEM. Then click DEVICE MANAGER in the top left hand corner. Go down the list and find the DISPLAY ADAPTERS, click in there to expand. Go in and select UPDATE DRIVER, browse the computer. find the folder that has the drivers in it. My path was this: C:\AMD\AMD-Catalyst-15.7Win10-64bit,

Select this, and it should find the driver and install it. Now your folder should look like this and everything should be working!

You don't want windows to make any decisions, you're basically overriding what it's programmed to do.

Make sure you're right-clicking the default display adapter, then select update driver software.

Browse my Computer for driver software, then make sure that the following is in Search for driver software in this location:

C:\AMD\AMD-Catalyst-15.7-Win10-64bit, make sure the include subfolders box in checked. Click Next, and it should find the driver and install it.

Brian  you card isn't the 290 or 295? Or am I missing something.

ive tried what you said before and the computer ducks into the folder and theN Replies the best driver is installed. I,ll give it another go in 30 mins but

when hen you do it you get two choices dload or manual browse. I point it to the ati folder and it then returns the same message as above, it also returns that message when I ask it to dload. I may remove the existing and try your effort

    thanks

I think we'll just have to wait on bootcamp to get the Windows 10 support. The work around has landed me where you are, back where I was at the beginning so I'm probably just going to wait it out. Hopefully bootcamp with Windows 10 support will be released soon

Just tried manually pointing to the INF and choosing M200X series but doesn't want to take it...will just have a wait for Apple.

I found the only possible solution - use Windows 7.

W8.1 and 10 dont have appropriate driver support for 5k display

After some googling I would make an assumption that the problem with W10 driver has something to do with 5K resolution - no ATi chip supports resolutions higher thatn 4K yet. So, the problem can be much deeper than writing the appropriate driver software. I suppose, compatibility with 5K must be embedded on some lowerest levels of operating system itself.

The card I have is the AMD Radeon R9 M290 2048 MB. I have the 5k iMac. I got it running in Windows 10.
