Q: iMac Retina Radeon R9 290X Windows 10 video driver

Hello!

Can someone please provide info where to get Windows 10 video driver for my iMac Retina (R9 M290X)?

Bootcamp doesn't help. Catalyst 15.7 cannot detect any compatible hardware.

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), 2014

My Mac specifications is the same of yours. With Windows 10 I was having the same annoying AMD warnings. You mean that, in order to run all the games I have to install Windows 7 instead???

    Hey together!

So i finally managed the problems, here is how:

    - Downloaded all the drivers via bootcamp in OSX and selected an Fat-formated USB Stick, so all new Bootcamp drivers will downloaded to this usb.

    - Boot Windows 10 normally and use the amd cleanup utility to remove ALL past drivers from the system

    - Go to your USB, copy the folder to your desktop and delete the REALTEK Driver folder (In my case the installation was stuck at the realtek part, so I deleted it and it worked)

    - Install Bootcamp drivers via the setup.exe

Finally after a restart I got everything it needs, Catalyst works also, no error code!

Another question: Now I have BC 6, but a few days ago 6.1 was released. Do I have to do the whole procedure again in Mac? Because Windows does not show me any updates for Bootcamp from 6 to 6.1..

It ***** to switch OS, download all the stuff on the flash drive and install it all manually. In Win7 I also had this popup windows where Apple updates automatically, but in Win10 there is none...

    Any idea?

Edit: Fallout 4 runs better but still is laggy at about 45fps. I don't know why..

@Marcos AntonioI didn't mind re-installing to Windows 7 as long as I can play the game. It is better than waiting for Apple or AMD or Microsoft to solve this problem. I am quite happy with the Windows 7 drivers (but they are old drivers) and I have managed to play Fallout 4 for more than 20 hours with no issues.

I installed the 5K Boot Camp update and got true 5K and everything was lovely.

And then I apparently updated my video drivers through the ATI Catalyst Control Center and I'm limited to 4K again.

I've uninstalled all the video and display drivers and reinstalled through a fresh Boot Camp drivers USB stick. No luck.

Any suggestions how to re-acquire the right driver and get 5K back?

The simplest solution is a clean installation of Windows.

@FixerMX If I am not wrong, the drivers downloaded from Boot Camp Assistant does not contain the latest drivers. As suggested by Loner T, you will need to reinstall Windows and updated the drivers using Apple Software Update. Try not to install the drivers directly from AMD as they are usually not compatible.
