When logging on to wifi the network splash screen does not open so that I cannot log in to wifi and have no access. I'm on a Macbook Air, latest OS X version - 10.10.4

When logging on to wifi the network splash screen does not open so that I cannot log in to wifi and have no access. It just suddenly stopped working - and I don't recall changing any settings that could cause this. I'm on a Macbook Air, latest OS X version - 10.10.4

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
