When forwarding emails with embedded images, the images are shown as attachments and the embedded images are not visible

Dear all,

I hope someone can help us with this.

Sometimes we use emails with embedded images, for example when sending an email to a customer with information about a new product. In this particular email the images are embedded and the text surrounding these images refer to them and when sending these emails from our Exchange (2010) server, iPhone users can see those emails without a problem and they can also see those embedded images.

When we forward such an email from our iPhones however, the recipient receives the email with the embedded images as attachments. This is a problem for us because the text in the email refers to certain embedded images and when they are attached to the email, you don't know which attachment belongs to which part of the text.

Is this a setting, or can we do something to make sure images stay embedded when forwarding emails?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.4
