Microsoft office will no longer work - (keeps crashing, will not open new documents, cannot save without it crashing etc.)

Hi,

I have a macbook pro 13 retina display and recently upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.4 and now all apps in microsoft office 2011 for MAC is completely unstable. It crashes when opening for a new document, will open an already saved document but will crash as soon as you try to save the new document. Any clues on how to resolve this issue?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

and for some reason Apple's link is broken so:

if that does not work make sure you have the latest update for Mac

if that fails you may consider reinstalling the product.
