two dots in dropdown select

When the options in a select box have a larger font size, two dots appear rather than a checkbox. Is there a way to hide this with CSS? This seems like a bug to me.

Thanks for posting the link. I will monitor it for replies. You should receive competence assistance on that forum, but if several hours transpire with no responses, I will call upon someone with CSS knowledge who might be able to help.

Hi John, There are no answers yet in the developers forum. I do believe it's a bug in Safari, but wanted to confirm whether there is a workaround. Thanks!

I subscribed to your post in Developer Forums and am disappointed no one has responded. The CSS expert I contacted hasn't responded either; perhaps he found meaningful employment.

Wish I could be of more help. Since a few days transpired without a response, you might consider posting a new question on that forum. I'd like to know the answer also.
