Microphone won't pick up sound?

Isn't that a mic with XLR connection? How did you connect it to your computer?

Usually, you connect that mic to an audio interface and that is then connected (i.e. via USB) to your computer. You would check the mic signal first on the audio interface, then on the computer input (using the System Preferences - Sound - Input), and then in GarageBand.

Please provide a more detailed description what and how you connected your devices to better trouble shoot your problem
