sync TO outlook erased all my phone numbers on iphone contacts still there

How do I retrieve erased phone numbers on my iphone? I synced via ITunes to my new laptop outlook. when I used my iphone later in the day all contacts were still there but all addresses and phone numbers were no longer on my iphone. On the iTunes restore function you cannot select older date backup versions, the restore gives me the same situation...all contacts present, BUT no other data no emails, physical addresses, phone numbers.
