Connecting a self powered USB 3.0 hard disk to 802.11ac TC

I am not able to access the hard disk which I connect with TC. Its updated with 7.7.3 firmware. The hard disk is USB 3.0. Is there any way I can access it through TC?

Thanks

The first requirement for a drive at the USB port of the Time Capsule is that it be formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

Do you know what format the drive is using? if you bought the drive "off the shelf", chances are that it is formatted for Windows. One Windows format....FAT32.....will work with the Time Capsule, but the more commonly used formats of NTFS or exFAT will not.

Assuming that the drive is formatted correctly, the USB port on the Time Capsule is not a high powered port, so you may need to use a powered USB hub to supply enough power to the hard drive.
