Replacing soldered GPU

Yes I know it's considered impossible because the GPU is soldered on to the board. Theoretically, if there is an integrated, more powerful card that can be used with my machine (mid-2012 MBP), then using my inner surgeon I can remove the logic board, de-solder the card and solder a new one on. Any objections (besides the very possible damage to an expensive piece of quality engineering)?
