Q: Delete "Photos" db?

I used Photos for a short time a few months ago, but I hated it.

I went back to iphoto.

Now I see that I have iPhoto Library.photolibrary AND Photos Library.photolibrary. About the same size.

Even though I am using iPhoto (and the iPhoto Library.photolibrary Mod Date is updated correctly every single time I make a change), I see that the latest modification date for Photos Library.photolibrary is two hours ago today.

Is there a reason why iPhoto would touch the iPhoto Library.photolibrary two hours ago?

I just want to delete Photos Library.photolibrary.

The libraries do show with about the same size but actually the image files inside the libraries are sharing the disk space by hard links. You will not gain much storage by deleting the Photos library. See this link: Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support

If you want to explore Photos a bit, you can keep the new Photos Library without losing much space.
