iTunes 12.2.1 won't sync

Since upgrading to iTunes 12.2.1 I cannot sync my iPod 160GB Classic. I am running a current update of Windows 7 Professional, the software on my 6th generation iPod classic is 2.0.4. Everything worked fine until the last iTunes update. I added a bunch of music to my library and then tried to sync only to discover that I could not. When I connect my iPod to the computer I get the "Connected" message followed by "Synchronizing" and then "OK to Disconnect" all within 15 seconds (this is on the iPod screen). Shortly thereafter the device pops up in iTunes and I can click on Summary, Playlists, etc., and all looks good; but when I try to sync it, I get an error message saying "Cannot sync **** the disk is not available" if I click sync again I get "Cannot sync **** because the device is not found", yet my device still shows up in iTunes.

I have tried uninstalling all Apple software and reinstalling it but the problem remains. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

iPod classic, Windows 7

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

If the issue persists and you have a 64-bit system try the for older video cards version which is a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit code, similar to all 64-bit versions of iTunes up to 12.1.

Thanks. After looking at the documents link you provided, it appeared to be the iadcore.dll file. I deleted it and repaired iTunes and everything worked fine, was able to sync my iPod which completed successfully. However, the next time around the same old problem was back, i.e., "disk is not available" "device not found". Is the iadcore file supposed to be there or no? Any idea why it would keep coming back or getting corrupted?
