Dvd rom Mac Os Yosemite macbook pro 17"

anyone else had problems with DVD Rom after the operating system upgrade, I believe that this happened because the apple forgotten that the old had computed DVD player and CD rom drive, as new computers do not have this drive !!! It was to update the apple !!! Upgrade, trust or not trust ????
