Track pad won't click at all can I turn it off?

The built in track pad started to have issues a couple months ago to where it'd only work for thirty minutes then it would't click any more. Now it doesn't work at all so I bought a bluetooth mouse. If I bump the trackpad accidentally it won't let me left click on the external mouse then I have to restart the computer to get it to work again. Is there a way to turn it off?

Thanks,

Mike

You need to make an appointment at the genius bar and take it in for service. The battery in your laptop is failing and has swollen up to the point that it's putting pressure on the trackpad from the bottom.
