iPad air 2 and usb microphone: Help!

Hello,

Recently, I have bought an iPad air 2 to upgrade my old iPad 2. I used the camera adapter to connect my microphone to the ipad 2 for recording.

Today, I have read that the iPad Air 2 doesn't power devices thru the lightning port, that is true?

If that is true, someone can give to me a simple way to connect my usb microphone in my new ipad air 2?

Thank you in advance.

There is a limit on the amount of power the iPad will provide to devices. It's gone down over time 😢.

You should try putting a powered usb hub between your lighting connector and the mic. There are solar powered usb hubs. Probably battery powered hubs too.

thought you had already tried connecting the mic to you lighting iPad. Didn't you use the camera connection kit to connect you mic to the iPad 2. You do the same for your new ipad.

Try:

You can find the adapter cheaper at other stores. I'd worry that the very cheap ones could be fakes. Be careful, apple has added verification software in ios 8.x to ensure you are using an approved adapter.

One user reports that allows a USB microphone (like Snowball) works:
