my whole screen disappears to the left
Once in a while I'm reading something on my screen and the whole screen goes flying to the left and disappears.
iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
Open System Preferences > Mouse then select the Mouse Gestures tab.
Deselect: Swipe betweeen pages
See if that makes a difference.
