I know about the issue with iCloud- I turned off Safari in iCloud and in iCloud Drive. This is STILL happening. All I'm doing is simple browsing, I'm not watching video- just browsing sites with text and images.
How can I fix this? My battery only lasts a few hours with this and it's super annoying.
ARe you using wifi or cellular data? Make sure other apps aren't running in background.
If you are sure it is Safari (go to Settings/General/Usage - battery usage and check) you are going to the wrong websites. Many sites download megabytes of ads, even if they don't show them to you.
It IS Safari. That's how I know it would take that much percent up. It uses even more battery even when I'm not using it, which is half of the time on my phone.
When you are finished with safari, close the app by double clicking the home button and swiping upwards on the previews of open apps.
You need to close whatever pages are open that have auto-update features. Safari will not use any data unless a page requests it.
Thanks, that is a temporary fix to a bigger problem. I hope this huge memory leak is addressed in iOS 9. I want to have my iCloud Safari sync back 😟
