Aug 3, 2015 3:00 PM in response to voitonby oboeman,I ran into the same issue, not only with iTunes but an Adobe product as well, but I found the easy solution. Because of the way Windows 10 and installations work, even if you are an administrator on your system stuff will not install properly. The way I got the iTunes 12 to install was to right-click on the installer file and select "Run as administrator". No problems with the iTunes install or the Adobe product after doing that. My guess is, it is just another "Undocumented Feature".

Aug 18, 2015 6:15 AM in response to spinrs2kby bethsygf,This worked in terms of installing a working version of iTunes, so thanks. But it is still telling me that this is the correct version to use - ie no update.

Aug 18, 2015 7:34 AM in response to bethsygfby turingtest2,The linked support document now offers the iTunes 12.2.2 build of the "for older video cards" version, which is the current one.

Aug 25, 2015 1:37 AM in response to splazer2794by applebosslom,Hey there.. After lots of updating, searching, reading for a few days I decided to tinker around my computer and figure out where everything was being downloaded with the new system. I was on windows 7 still a 64bit and so it turns out 2 things were wrong. my norton was blocking a lot of stuff with it's SMART FIREWALL GRRRR and Itunes somehow got installed in the wrong folder (program 86x). Everything showed up including my phone just nothing could be accessed. I basically just uninstalled and reinstalled in the drive c program folder and made sure all the drivers cleaned (when you unplug and replug in they just add on)up and updated and downloaded right, that bonjour was running (that was the issue with the update for the last windows 7 grr along with a missing snap in)... and everything else with itunes and after i ignored the firewall and restarted notebook. I got my itunes back up and running my home group and network and EVERYTHING connected including my tablet and phone!! YAY.. so in case no one has checked to see where theirs has downloaded may want to. just make sure your compatibility box in unchecked for all itunes and bonjour service not sure if this will help anyone, but since mine is up and running and i didn't tweak anything, didn't add anything, didn't take anything away.. hopefully it will! :) GL!

Sep 28, 2015 8:24 AM in response to voitonby TwpMontclair_IT,Try this:
In windows command prompt:
-wmic
-product get name
From the product list and pick the software name that you want to install
-Product where name="product name" call uninstall.
Once the iTune is uninstalled, then reinstall it with the latest version.

Oct 2, 2015 6:34 PM in response to voitonby Jmtnbkr30,This is how I was able to install and start using iTunes 12.3 using windows 10: Go into Start Menu, select settings, click on System (display, notifications, apps, power), click on About, scroll down on the right hand screen and click on Additional administrative tools. This will open a new window, click on System configuration, another window will open, click Enable all, then click Apply. Restart your computer and install iTunes. It should work, if not I will look into it further. I have had the same problem for weeks and finally got iTunes to install and update. Essentially, Windows 10 needs to be reconfigured to accept iTunes and the apple programs to install and use it. By enabling the programs it tells Windows it is okay to install and use the apple products. This has just been my experience though.

I've been installing, deleting, over and over, talking with microsoft support, doing clean boots, reading - and failing to install iTunes on windows 10 after a refresh issue.
NOW my nightmare is over.
iTunes is up, all my old stuff is there. Thank you again !

Oct 31, 2015 6:27 AM in response to voitonby JC Bond,I was having the same problem for weeks. Finally someone mentioned that I may solve the issue by manually installing the "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" from Microsoft and then installing iTunes afterward. This worked...
The steps where:
- Un-install ALL traces of iTunes first
- Download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
- Download and install a fresh copy of iTunes.
Good luck to anyone still having this issue.
