how do I bridge a pace model 5031nv to use my airport as my main wireless router

I recently switched to the ATT UVerse service. I would like to use my Airport Extreme as my main/only wireless device, bridgng off the Uverse modem. How can I set the modem to bridge only mode. It is a Pace Model 5031NV.

It may not be possible to bridge the Uverse router ATT supply.

However you can use the AE as the main or only wireless device.. simply login to the GUI setup of the Pace modem router and turn off wireless.. If you need exact details on how to do that.. apple discussion area is probably not the place.

Try here. https://forums.att.com/t5/Third-Party-Devices/How-to-Bridge-PACE-5031-NV-to-3rd- Party-Router/td-p/3612175

The AE can be used in bridge mode.. it will not cause any issues if the PACE modem is working as main router.

However there is a mode of using the AE as secondary DHCP server without causing double NAT issues.. this is useful if you want to keep the AE handling at least ARP and DHCP for the network.

After much grief the following worked for me:

Be sure that your Airport Extreme is the only device connected to the 5031NV. Otherwise, both routers will try to assign private IP addresses and there will be conflicts.

This is regarding the setup where a static IP address is provided by AT&T and the ATT 5031NV is set to IP passthrough. Your AE internet settings should be the static IP address, gateway, router address, etc. The 5031NV has a LAN setting to provide a static IP with not DHCP. The firewall setting should DMZplus for your device (the only device connected to the ethernet ports on the 5031NV. Note, the 5031NV is providing no firewall so be sure to setup your own router and network appropriately.

You should be able to keep your AE on DHCP or on DHCP with NAT. You shouldn't have to use bridge mode. I turned off WiFi from the 5031NV and have created both a normal WiFi network and a guest network from my AE.
