Q: What does a case number do?

I have an ipod touch 5 and it recently hasn't been working so I called Apple Support, they eventually gave me a case number but I don't know what to do with it.

If you received a case number via email there should be a link to check the repair status or you can check it hee >  Repair Status

The Case Number is used by Apple and yourself to identify the devices, its problem and its owner.

In the interaction that gave yo the Case Number Apple should have told you what to do next.

    If not contact Apple again

I went through the apple report a problem page. I reported a purchase that i made, and did not receive.

They gave me a case number, no link.

Told me, I'd hear back within 48 hours. 5 days later, still nothing.

I followed your repair link. And the case number provided does not work with this link. (I think this link is only for phone repairs and not all cases are related to repairs. I have searched pretty hard for where I'm suppose to enter this number to track my progress. I'm almost certain Apple does not have this feature).

Which really makes my blood boil. I hate it when I get mucked around and lied to. It seems Apple's just trying to sweep this one under the rug. All over a $7.49 purchase.
