Partitioned drive and messed up bootcamp

I used gParted to resize my bootcamp partition and I thought I would be able to use my windows install media to repair it but it's not working. When I attempt to repair it says the drive is locked. I looked through some of the other posts and I know this info is helpful I'm just not quite sure what to do with it.

1. Are you booted in either OSX or Windows when attempting such repair?

2. Your MBR is invalid.

3. If you resized Windows and are trying to repair it, please make sure you have a backup.

Windows only boots to an error screen that tells me to use my instillation media to repair. So I booted from the USB drive I used to install windows and try to repair and it says the HHD windows is installed to is locked. I can open the bootcamp drive in finder and see all the files so I figured there might be a simple way to repair it.

Do you have any encryption on the Windows disk? You should have exclusive access. If you get to command prompt from the installer, can you run chkdsk?

Yeah I can bring up the command prompt. My spouse is using the laptop right now. I'll run chkdsk in a bit.

It says: the type of file system is ntfs.

Cannot lock current drive

Windows cannot run disk checking on this volume because it is write protected.

Then i tried chkdsk /f /r /x and it says the same thing.

Yes, but I've decided to give up on this windows instillation. I've been able to recover my important files. But I've found other problems now. When I tried to use bootcamp assistant to remove windows it tried and then gave me an error. so I looked in disk utility and it sees 3 partitions. OS X, recovery HD, and a 50gb empty free space partition. But when I hold option at boot the windows drive still shows up. and I can't change any partitions in disk utility because i gives an error, and when I try to boot into the recovery HD it just boots into OS X regular. So idk what's going on and it looks like I may have to reformat and reinstall OS X.
