the screen is black and will not come on. I was in the settings screen of brand new phone and screen went black. I've tried the hard restart and continued to hold but apple logo goes away after a few seconds and screen stays black.
iPhone 6 Plus
Plug the iPhone into its charger, then do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, about 10-40 seconds, and then release both buttons, do not continue to hold them. Then let if finish the startup process.
I tried that once again - the logo appears for a few seconds - then dims - then disappears and I'm left with a black screen again. VERY frustrating.
Time to take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out.
