picture folders no longer show up after I click on the camera icon in the media area.

I am using the latest version of FCPX on a Macbook pro. Latest version.

I go to the camera icon and click. The pop up box pops up, but is completely blacked out where normally, I would see the folders such as iPhoto, Last import, albums, etc.

If I click anywhere in the black box, it will change to a folder at the bottom and pictures will show up, but I can't actually see the folder I am clicking on since it is completely blank.

All other media icons such as music, work according to standards with no issues. This is only happening in the photo area.?

Please let me know if you have an idea as to how to remedy this.
