Is it possible to record separate tracks with single audio interface

i'd like to know if it's possible to record separate tracks with single audio interface

for example

-I have moog phatty connected to single audio interface

-created external instrument track in logic

-recorded a sound

-created new external instrument track to record a new sound from moog

-playing same sound from previous track

is it possible to record a separate track with new sound or do I have to purchase multi channel audio interface

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

How are you connecting the Moog to the Audio Interface and what kind of audio interface is it?

Sounds like you're recording a MIDI track and not an audio track.

i meant recording my moog sound theough midi

im using scarlet 2i2 atm

You are not recording the Moog sound through MIDI, that's not what MIDI is. The short of it is..... "MIDI Is Not Audio"
