I hate iTunes poor audio quality

I run an HD audio system here, the whole chain is open to above 50kHz as I believe that if you want "a violin to sound like a violin" you must try to reproduce the sounds a violin makes!

But listening to iTunes music is now painful, the quality is awful. Boxy, muffled, lacking resolution and brilliance.

Thank goodness I still have my original 96kHz audio tracks, although iTunes has swept them into the cloud and tries to make me listen to poor AAC files...
