My iphone wont allow me to take any pictures saying that i have low disk space. i have backed up my phone this morning and it still says i have low disk space yet i have 17.8gb free on my icloud... how can this be?

Low storage space and iCloud storage are not the same thing.
Tap Settings > General > About then scroll to: Available
That how much free storage space there is on your iPhone, not iCloud.
Thank you but why doesn't it upload to icloud then to free space? i thought that was the point of it?
It can upload to iCloud, you just have to configure your settings to allow that. You can go to your settings and it should be under "Photos" or "Camera"
This is turned on and still not working...
