iTunes store problem? or iTunes problem? OR my device problem..?

I have a 15in macbook pro retina from February of 2013.

After the recent iTunes update, whenever I try to buy a movie,

it keeps telling me that my device is not HD compatible. how do I fix this?

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
