You will have to recover the password. Start with https://iforgot.apple.com.
Note that even though your ID is an email address, it is really a user ID, and the associated email account does not have to be active to use it as a user ID. Once you recover the password you can change the Apple ID to a working email address. See: Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID
No good, it asks to send an email or for my security questions
I chose security questions and it tells me my date of birth is incorrect
I have a working one which is ok with iTunes etc iCloud wants the old one
