When sending a recording to iTunes it freezes-up on the converting step and will not stop I have to force quit of garage band.

there is an issue with iTunes, for now the workaround is to use Share to Disk instead (you can then drop the exported file into iTunes if you wish)

I think with 'iTunes" you mean "Apple" and I guess that is a rhetorical question.
Logic users report similar issues with he new iTunes, so you bet that someone at Apple is aware of that by now and working on it. At what time a fix will be available, that is a completely different story all together. Remember, it is Apple.
