how to download into a particular playlist from computer to Ipod touch

Downloaded over 200 songs from Itune Store to my computer. Made a new playlist called HALLOWEEN....swiped all songs into the Halloween playlist...plugged in my IPod Touch to synch songs into this new playlist. The IPod Touch has all the halloween songs in my music library but not in my playlist......where did I go wrong?
