Q: the photo browser in mac mail doesn't see changes in Photos

Sometime within the last two weeks the photo browser in mac mail stopped seeing changes in Photos. When I put photos into Photos, they don't appear in the mail photo browser. I can see everything up to July 18 (which it calls "Thursday") but nothing since. This hasn't happened with iPhoto. If I put a photo into iPhoto, it shows up right away in the mail photo browser. Can anyone think of an explanation for this, and, more importantly, can it be fixed?

the media browser update can be slow - a Mac reboot will resolve - and tell Apple - it does need to be improved - https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html

Are you using iCloud Photo Library and "Optimize Mac Storage"? Then only photos will be showing in the Media Browser that have been downloaded to the Mac. See this link: If Media Browser doesn't show your entire Photos library - Apple Support

Thanks, but this doesn't help me because I am not using the iCloud Photo Library (I don't like those storage costs).

Thanks, that worked. I rebooted and then I could see all the pictures that I have put into Photos over the past two weeks. After I rebooted I put another picture into Photos, and it appeared almost right away in the photo browser. I did report the problem to Apple.
