Some of my emails are missing. I can see them on my iphone but they are not showing in my mac book pro laptop in my mail.

If your email account is a pop account the emails are downloaded to the first device to connect to the email server to get email. If you want to sync your email across multiple devices, use an IMAP email account. Check with your current email provider to see if they have IMAP servers. If they do, configure your email settings for IMAP on all your devices across which you want to sync email.
