Did you try the standard suggestions from iPhone support?

There may be differences between any newer iOS in your old iPhone when compared

to a later iOS operating system in a newer device, then attached to a Mac OS X.

Also, if the computer has iPhotos, or a newer Photos for Mac, handling items may vary.
