Why is pitch shifter leaving ugly artifacts after I bounced the audio?

I'm trying to slightly pitch shift certain drums and it sounds usually fine when the plugin is active on my track. Then when I bounce it to audio, there comes ugly artifacts and clicks right before the drum hits. Ultrabeat has no problems pitching drums but I can't do it by cents. Help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
