Don't get prompted to create DNS automatically when editing host name

Hello,

I don't get prompted to create DNS automatically when editing host name.

I should get a drop down saying "Do you want to set up DNS?" But I don't and settings get updated once I click on Finish.

Anything wrong that I am doing..?

If you mean when editing the host name of a server it does not prompt to create a matching record on a DNS server then this is normal. You need to manage the records in your DNS server itself. Remember it is quite possible to have a DNS server not only on a different server, but this other server may not even be a Mac.

Related to the above Apple do not support dynamic DNS records with their DNS/DHCP software.
