While using safari, a pop up window came up which I cannot remove stating " Due to third party application on your iphone, IOS has crashed. Contact Support for immediate fix. I called and did not feel that the individual was credible . Is this a virus that was purposeful and how do I fix.

If you’re on a Mac, choose Force Quit from the Apple menu, close Safari, and then launch it with the Shift key held down. If the message reappears, disconnect the computer from the Internet for long enough to erase that site from the browser history.
