Have a buddy who cannot get a new IP when he tries to connect to my network.. I looked at his machine and see no problems but I can't get it to join my wireless either. My devices work, but his won't nor will another friend's android.. any ideas?

What about using ethernet .. does that work??
If you are using apple AE router I strongly recommend a reset to factory and redo the setup.
This time use all short names.. no spaces and pure alphanumerics.. same with password... but can be 8-20 characters mixed case and numbers..
Still got issues turn off security on wireless for test.. does it connect now?? If not it is incompatible and will never work.. this is wireless voodoo and it happens plenty.
