RAM Upgrade - MacBook Pro Late 2008

I apologize if I'm submitting this question in the wrong section. If so, could you please link me to the correct forum?

I'm looking to upgrade my MacBook Pro late 2008. I'm going back to college soon and I need a computer that is able to handle 3D simulation and hopefully my VM's. I hope to upgrade to 8GB of RAM as that is the most I believe my computer will support.

Version 10.9.5

Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 (2x2GB chips)

Model Identifier: MacBook Pro5,1

I've read the following forums that said that I could update my RAM to 8GB (usually without problems) provided I have updated firmware.

This said that it was safe to buy from OWC.

This also mentioned what RAM I need, and I just want to be clear I am buying the correct RAM and that this will all work before I go ahead with it.

So if I buy this OWC, will I be fine to just swap the RAM chips? Up to the 8GB
